Fear of job loss and additional stress
According to a recent evaluation of the Austrian Work Climate Index, one in three employees is trapped in the wrong job. This has negative consequences both for those affected and for employers: overqualified people are often unhappy with their work and change companies or even jobs much more often than others. The dissatisfaction is mainly expressed in terms of a lack of career and development opportunities.
But also the expected Effects of digitalization have a strong influence on the working environment: 30% of employees believe that their work has changed significantly in the last five years as a result - and that the number of jobs has decreased as a result. Around 40% fear that even more jobs will be lost as a result of digitalization. To the same extent, just as many employees expect their own workplace to change - in conjunction with additional burdens, but also with relief.
