In contrast to the USA and the UK, Switzerland has so far been spared a major wave of layoffs - despite the coronavirus crisis. How the\u00a0<\/strong>Commercial newspaper<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0employment levels in the third quarter of 2021 were even higher than before the crisis, and 75,000 new jobs were created.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Handelszeitung sees one possible reason for this positive development in the government's good crisis management, which has focused on preserving jobs, e.g. with short-time working. However, another reason could be the general uncertainty, which has led to people postponing their resignation since March 2020 - despite possible job dissatisfaction - for fear of not finding a new job.<\/p>\n

And dissatisfaction appears to be high, as a survey by a personnel service provider suggests: around 50% of Swiss employees are dissatisfied with their job. This raises the question, for employees and employers alike, of how productive and efficient employees who are only half-heartedly doing their job still are.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
